With most of the western mountains measuring in with below average snow totals, here’s a video from February 2013/14 showcasing what Park City’s complimentary bus is capable of accessing. Hopefully March will pull through for bottomless powder turns. Keep those snow dances up.

Winter returns to the Wasatch with a healthy 12″ of chowder. Get some.

Seeking love is often a popular thought this time of year. Expectations rise while emotions begin to fly high. This particular feature has been on my mind for the past several weeks and I haven’t been able to shake the thought of riding her inviting curves. At first I observed her from a distance, however, time and additional snowfall allowed me to work up the courage to ask her for a ride. Valentine’s day was the perfect opportunity to express my love for her bubbly, rotund, pillow lines. And express I did.

The month of January has been an interesting one in the Wasatch. 2014 kicked off with rollover powder from the previous year.

Just when Old Man Winter’s local approval ratings began to dip, a series of storms pushed into the area dropping classic Utah snow. Stashes were shlarped.*

Yet another high pressure system pushed itself into the Wasatch area shortly thereafter, apprehending all hope of continued powder terror. Instead, sunny, spring like conditions prevailed for the past 2 weeks, lowering team morale. In times like these, succumbing to frustration seems to be an easy excuse not to ride some snow, however, a backyard sunset session never hurts when the powder is nowhere to be found. Get creative and make the fun happen. Because the next storm is right around the corner.

Mother Nature blessed Utah with a COLD storm this past week, leaving stockpiles of priceless powder. Without hesitation, I joined local photographers, Colter Wade, and Ben Van Avermaete for a night of prospective powder mining in the Old Town district of Park City. The motherlode was discovered, then hastily mucked and drilled.

We were the only ones on the hill at this Park City mountain bike trail, despite heavy lift lines at surrounding resorts.

Went stalefishing for powder during the last Utah storm and found this little feature. Friends and I have had fun on freeride mountain bike jumps during early winter conditions which makes the wait for snow depths to accumulate enjoyable. Photo by Ben Van Avermaete.

The Wasatch mountains been dry for the last couple weeks, so a crew of friends and I recently took a relaxing trip to the desert. Camping during this time of the year is always a great distraction while waiting for winter to begin. When we came across this possible line, we were stoked we brought our bike gear.
